Job summary

The Newark Central School District is seeking a Long-Term Substitute AIS Math Teacher for elementary grades to cover a maternity leave, effective on or about November 2, 2026, with end date TBD. The teacher will deliver instruction aligned to NYS learning standards, differentiate for students with IEPs, maintain student progress records, and communicate regularly with families and Newark staff.

All candidates must have NYS Teacher Certification; fingerprint clearance via TEACH is required;

Qualifications

• New York State Teacher Certification required.
• Childhood Education 1-6 certification preferred.
• Experience in AIS/MATH instruction is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lessons aligned to NYS standards.
• Plan, teach, and assess lessons to meet student needs and standards.
• Differentiate instruction per IEPs and individual needs.
• Create an organized classroom with clear expectations.
• Analyze data to adjust instructional goals for student learning.
• Participate in meetings with Newark staff and families.
• Communicate progress to families regularly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
