Job summary

West Virginia Department of Education seeks a Long Term Substitute ECCAT/Aide/Paraprofessional to support Kindergarten through Third Grade classrooms at Flatwoods Elementary. You will provide targeted instruction and assist teachers with literacy, numeracy, and classroom tasks.

Applicants must have a high school diploma and meet WV state requirements for aides, pass the state competency test, and undergo a background check.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent as per WV Code §18A-2-5.
• Demonstrated competency per WV Code §18A-4-8e; required test pass.
• Background check per WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10; coordinate with WVDE/BCS.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual or small group instruction under the supervision of the teacher.
• Assist with literacy and numeracy initiatives under the Third Grade Success Act.
• Assist in preparing materials and grading assignments; supervise students.
