The Case Manager I, LTD role manages a caseload of long-term disability claims with independent work and team collaboration. You will apply contractual provisions, review medical and occupational records, and communicate decisions with sensitivity to claimants’ circumstances.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication with customer service orientation.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to conduct detailed claimant interviews.
• Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated analytical skills to assess contract language and evidence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize a group of claims with proper documentation.
• Obtain all pertinent information to evaluate claim credibility.
• Prepare written rationale based on contractual provisions and medical records.
• Process claims for payment through the paying system for timely benefits.
• Assess vocational rehabilitation options with vocational staff.
• Provide testimony or depositions in disputes when needed.
