Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. is a Long-Term Care pharmacy serving long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. The pharmacist will evaluate medication orders, ensure correct dispensing, and collaborate with physicians and facility staff to optimize therapy.

We value accuracy, attention to detail, and strong communication. Prior LTC and hospital/retail pharmacy experience are a plus for delivering personalized care and safe medication management.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in Illinois.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Experience in hospital/retail pharmacy or other medical fields.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Computer skills.
• Framework/ECM software knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and administration.
• Ensure medicines are dispensed, supplied, and labeled correctly.
• Recommend therapy changes to physicians and facilities staff when needed.
• Maintain customers' medical history and clinical data in the database.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare team about medication queries.
• Supervise preparation of medicines.
• Maintain controlled drug records for legal and stock control.
