Job summary

KPH Healthcare Services, Inc. in Wisconsin La Crosse seeks a pharmacist to manage daily pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

You will perform MTM, IMMR, short stay reviews, deliveries at discharge, and other clinical functions while supporting consultant pharmacists and meeting budget guidelines.

Strong communication with doctors, staff training, and maintaining patient confidentiality are essential in this hands-on leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Follows the HealthDirect Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions.
• Performs QA steps to ensure accuracy; reports dispensing incidents promptly.
• Follows all state and federal regulations governing pharmacy.
• Oversees initial submission, resubmission, and collection of third-party claims.
• Manages and balances pharmacy inventory to maximize turns.
• Maintains and secures patient confidentiality and records.
• On-call schedule and collaboration with Facility Manager on HR actions.
• Performs MTM, IMMR, short stay reviews, and discharge deliveries.
• Assists in meeting budgetary guidelines and operates within budget.
• Interfaces with auditors and outside agencies as needed.

Job description

• Follows the HealthDirect Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions
• Performs all quality assurance steps to insure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed. Reports dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines
• Follows all State and Federal regulations governing the practice of Pharmacy
• Oversees the initial submission, resubmission, and collection of all third-party claims
• Manages and balances the pharmacy inventory to ensure maximum turns while remaining in-stock for customer needs.
• Ensures prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines
• Ensure outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees always
• Insure all loss Prevention policies are followed by all employees and report deviations from said policies to Loss Prevention
• Oversees the maintenance of the pharmacy department to insure a clean and professional environment
• Maintains and develops professional relationships with doctors and others in the health service professions
• Maintains an awareness of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into own practice
• Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information
• Facilitates communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
• Work on-call schedule, where applicable
• Interacts with Facility Manager in the appropriate completion of hiring practices, performance reviews and disciplinary actions of pharmacy department personnel.
• Perform MTM, IMMR, short stay reviews, delivery at discharge, and other clinical functions to support consultant pharmacists and maintain compliance at customer locations.
• Assists in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within said guidelines
• Interface with various auditors and outside agencies, as needed
• Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs
