Friendship Village of Dublin is now looking for STNAs to work in our State-of-the-art Health Center!
Available Hours:
4, 10-hour shifts with an e/o weekend rotations
Essential Duties
Assist Director in developing a well-rounded activity schedule/program each month that is resident centered and contributes to the total physical, cognitive, spiritual and psychosocial well-being of each resident. May make suggestions based on own talents and interests.
Conduct group and individual activities to stimulate physical, mental and spiritual aspects of resident’s lives, which may include ball games/exercises, arts and crafts, reading, writing, music, pet therapy, sensory stimulation, outings, cards, bingo, games and other activities. Follow activity program as planned and scheduled by the Director. Manage both small and large group activities in a controlled setting.
Inform all Health Services residents of events and activities, encouraging residents to participate. Motivate residents to attend and to participate in daily activities.
Assist residents to and from their rooms, the activities room, and the dining room; residents may be in wheelchairs, using walkers or canes or self-ambulatory with or without assistance.
Provide snacks/liquids that comply with special diets such as, nas, mech soft, thickened liquids, etc. Follow up with dietician/nurse prior to fulfilling resident request for food that is non-compliant with diet order. Provide set up and assist with snacks and fluids.
Understands special needs of 65 and over age groups (e.g., possible loss of vision, hearing, memory, etc.); ability to effectively communicate and provide services for these age groups.
Visit residents in their rooms to socialize, read books, read mail, or provide snacks, as dictated by each resident’s needs and desires.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent at minimum.
Prefer course work or degree in recreational therapy or related field.
One (1) year experience working with the elderly preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong customer service experience preferred
