Job summary

Cordoba Corporation seeks a Construction Manager to lead a flagship educational facility project at Long Beach Community College District. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, and contracts, coordinating with architects, engineers, and inspectors to deliver the $60M construction program onsite.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in education/public works, strong negotiation and leadership skills, and Procore or similar PMIS experience; a CCM/PMP is highly desired.

Qualifications

• 15 years’ experience in Educational, DSA, Commercial, Healthcare, or Public Works projects.
• Construction Management, Engineering or Architectural background with strong emphasis in the construction phase of projects.
• Capable of managing projects from inception to construction to closeout.
• Flexibility to changes in bond program needs.
• Outstanding negotiations, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with field construction management and changes in the work.
• Proficiency in PMIS software like Procore or similar.
• Knowledge of Building Codes and Regulations for safety and compliance.
• Strong organizational skills for multiple projects.
• Strong problem-solving abilities for on-site issues.

Responsibilities

• Scope Management: manage programming scope and design/build requirements.
• Schedule Management: oversee project schedules through lifecycle.
• Budget Management: develop and control project budgets.
• Risk Management: identify and mitigate project risks.
• Contract Management: review/negotiate terms with clients and subcontractors.
• Quality Assurance: ensure work meets standards and specs.
• Team Coordination: coordinate with architects, engineers, and inspectors.
• Safety Oversight: enforce district safety protocols.
• Manage day-to-day owner’s representative processes for a $60M facility.
• Oversee RFIs, submittals, change management, inspections, and AHJ approvals.
