Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Portland, OR is seeking a Warehouse Worker to join the Receiving/Distribution area of the Logistics Service. You will handle receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping general and bulk materials and equipment.

This role requires physical stamina, ability to operate forklifts or hand trucks as needed, and adherence to safety procedures. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm Pacific Time.

Qualifications

• Experience with warehouse tasks including receiving, storing, and shipping materials.
• Ability to follow instructions, maintain inventory records, and cooperate with team.
• Knowledge of safety practices and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Receives, stores and ships bin and bulk supplies, materials and equipment
• Prepares shipping and inventory documents
• Selects specific storage locations
• Rotates stock and checks for outdated materials
• Handles delivering and warehousing materials including hazardous- and temperature-sensitive products
• Performs inventory counts and communicates discrepancies
• Ensures products and shelving have correct identification numbers
• Load and unload shipments from trucks and other conveyances
• Makes off-site deliveries in vehicles typically under 4,500 pounds
• Performs other related duties
• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
• 7:30am - 4:00pm PST
