Job summary

Canadian Solar is seeking a Logistics Warehouse Specialist in Mesquite, Texas, to maintain logistics procedures between sales and manufacturing and ensure efficient outbound of finished goods. You will coordinate with vendors and the local factory team to troubleshoot exceptions and support on-site logistics operations.

The role requires standing/walking for long periods in a non-temperature controlled warehouse and collaboration with multiple teams to maintain SOPs and timely shipments.

Location

The position is located in Mesquite, Texas and requires 5 days per week office attendance in a busy factory setting. This is an on-dock warehouse position. Candidates should be familiar with and comfortable working in a non-temperature controlled warehouse environment. The role requires a combination of standing, walking and sitting throughout the workday.

Position Summary

The Logistics Warehouse Specialist will be stationed in our Texas factory warehouse and is responsible for maintaining logistics operating procedures between sales and manufacturing, working across teams to ensure efficient outbound of finished goods, and communicating with outside vendors and the local factory team to troubleshoot exceptions. This role serves as the on-site logistics representative for US module factory logistics operations and is key to the stable output of materials and accurate control of inventory. This is a dynamic role with different sets of challenges daily as the factory ramps up output.

Primary Responsibilities

• Act as on dock control tower for direct shipment program.
• Identify opportunities to improve process flow between Canadian Solar (USA) Inc. and Canadian Solar U.S. Module Manufacturing and assist in developing efficiencies in the transfer process between the two entities.
• Implement shipping programs from the factory site to either the local warehouse or direct to customer(s).
• Maintain analytics to illustrate movement between sales and manufacturing.
• Support any required logistics SAP transactions regarding sale and transfer of goods between our factory and our sales entity.
• Work closely with 4PL onsite personnel and internal factory teams in Mesquite to maintain applicable SOPs and troubleshoot issues involving logistics.
• Coordinate direct shipping from the factory to customers.
• Manage communications with outbound carriers; coordinate schedules, assure on time arrival compliance.
• Collect outbound documents and check for accuracy before loading.
• Perform outbound security checks and vet drivers to assure that proper loads are assigned to legitimate carriers.
• Complete daily trailer program analysis which includes how many loads shipped, how many trailers are hired, status of hired trailers, how many drivers used, etc.
• Inspect outbound shipments for damages and work with the team to correct any issues.
• Work with the NA Logistics team to troubleshoot processing issues between production and sales.
• Support our CTPAT policies and procedures.
• Perform physical inventories.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of warehouse/inventory related work experience.
• 4-year BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
• PC knowledge, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Expert Excel and data analysis skills.
• Experience with SAP.
• Detail oriented, organized, self motivated.
• Able to work independently, understand priorities and communicate effectively.
• This position will require long times standing and walking.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with key contacts internally and externally.
• Highly flexible, with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines consistently.
• Comfortable and experienced working in warehouse environment and making on the spot decisions.
• Grit, resourcefulness, and resilience to thrive and succeed in unclear situations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the solar industry and/or managing high volume inventory.
• Experience with analytical software such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, etc.
• Warehousing experience.

The pay range for this position is $75,000–$95,000. This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include bonus or other incentives or benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
