Job summary

Kroger in Louisville, KY seeks a Transportation Center Supervisor to lead delivery drivers and oversee daily transport operations. You will drive on-time deliveries, coordinate schedules with operations planning, and coach teams toward safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

You will followDOT compliance, maintain equipment readiness, and partner with supervisors to solve problems, improve efficiency, and uphold Kroger's standards of service and safety.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of team leadership in Transportation, Distribution, or Manufacturing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT compliance.
  • Ability to coach and train others.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Capable of maintaining safety-focused operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop a team of delivery drivers in the transportation delivery operation.
  • Maintain on-time deliveries with a Full, Fresh and Friendly mindset.
  • Work with operations planning teams to coordinate schedules and deliveries.
  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to identify and address transportation/safety/ customer service opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Assist in identifying/designing technology and procedural based solutions to increase associate's productivity and adhere to proper and safe work methods regarding equipment activity and yard control.
  • Support and communicate with other department supervisors and managers in problem solving through collaborative scheduling efforts.
  • Communicate with the customer and COE to resolve any delivery problems or challenges.
  • Manage the condition of all delivery equipment and ensure to remove any barriers for your team and site.
  • Coach the team on delivery protocol (doorstep dialog) and methods to be effective in their roles.
  • Maintain a record of coaching activity and follow up to drive continuous improvement of individual and team results.
  • Communicate with fellow supervisors and management on all activities related to daily operations and aligning the business, people and safety practices to achieve key metrics.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism and a positive work environment.
  • Create a responsive and informed workforce through communication methods that include, but not limited to, regular meetings and huddles.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.

Job description

Responsibility to deliver transportation metrics in their area of responsibility at the fulfillment center. Metrics include Customer service metrics (NPS), safety, and final mile cost. This will be accomplished though the daily in van leadership of hourly associates' safety, productivity, and engagement supporting all facets of delivery operating efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications
MINIMUM
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in leading a team in Transportation, Distribution, Manufacturing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of D.O.T. compliance laws
  • Strong understanding of industry/technical terms and processes
  • Ability to collaborate and work cooperatively in a team-based environment
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and train
  • Ability to identify business problems and develop efficient and effective solutions
  • Ability to prioritize/multi-task while providing accurate/on-time results
  • Ability to respond to changing business priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
