Job description

Logistics & Transportation Account Manager

Location: Seattle, WA (Remote)

Salary: $50-60k + Profit Sharing

Contract: 12-month ongoing (potential for permanent based on performance)

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision

Hours: Full-time, M-F, with start times between 6am-9am PST

Must be based in these cities/states: South Seattle, Chicago, Kent WA, Auburn WA, Downtown Bellevue, WA, Memphis, TN, Salt Lake City, UT, Atlanta, GA, or Dallas, TX.

Our client is an asset-light freight brokerage committed to delivering excellent transportation and logistics solutions across North America through a dedicated team, partners, and innovative technology. The role offers significant growth and advancement opportunities, including potential earnings of $75-84k in the first year and up to $100k in the second year, influenced by team performance, profit sharing, and revenue management. Responsibilities include scheduling shipments, managing carrier relationships, and performing light sales calls to carriers to build and maintain partnerships.

The ideal candidate is a driven, detail-oriented logistics or carrier sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and seeks career growth in logistics. You will ensure timely shipments, support sales efforts, and deliver excellent customer and carrier experiences.

Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule and coordinate pick-up and delivery across FTL, LTL, and drayage.
  2. Negotiate rates and service terms with carriers.
  3. Communicate effectively with shippers, carriers, and internal teams.
  4. Manage shipment details using transportation platforms for real-time visibility.
  5. Track shipments and provide updates to clients.
  6. Source and expand carrier relationships and capacity.
  7. Monitor performance and resolve issues promptly.
  8. Assist with reporting, data entry, and customer support tasks.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in logistics, carrier or transportation sales/account management; experience in hotel or aviation industries considered.
  • Comfortable speaking on the phone with customers and carriers.
  • Excellent communication and phone etiquette skills.
  • Strong soft skills: process improvement, problem-solving under pressure, persistence, humility, intelligence.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Experience in customer service, conflict resolution, and business development.
  • Ability to negotiate rates and build relationships without cold calling.
  • Experience managing shipments and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Proactive, results-driven sales mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends, with prior notice.
  • Bonus: Experience with logistics software (TMS, WMS, OMS, dispatch systems) and quick learner of new systems.
