Job summary

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits in Grand Rapids is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to lead our warehouse operations. This full-time role oversees routing, loading, safety, payroll, and staff supervision to ensure accurate, timely deliveries across the state.

The ideal candidate will manage schedules, maintain DOT and safety compliance, author BOLs for transfers, and coach the team under the Transportation Manager to improve performance and customer service.

Qualifications

• Chauffer license required.
• CDL A or B with airbrake endorsement.
• Minimum 2 years driving experience in CDL box trucks with airbrakes.
• Hi-lo experience preferred.
• Experience operating GPS and handheld devices is helpful.
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to take direction and work independently.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 45 lbs.
• Acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Open/close/secure work areas per policy.
• Assist shuttle drivers with inbound/outbound loads.
• Ensure routes depart and adapt to bidding requirements.
• Manage calls and emails; resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate customer data in routing and systems.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and route execution.
• Prepare and reconcile routes and payments at the door.
• Survey work area daily to identify issues.
• Maintain timekeeping and payroll data.
• Coach and supervise subordinates; conduct team meetings.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe to operate.
