Job summary

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to lead warehouse and outbound delivery operations. This full-time role manages driver support, route execution, safety compliance, and daily supervision of a team to ensure accurate, on-time orders.

The ideal candidate holds CDL A or B with airbrake endorsement, a clean driving record, and the ability to work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• CDL A or B license with airbrake endorsement.
• Minimum 2 years driving experience in CDL box trucks with airbrakes.
• Hi-Lo experience preferred.
• Experience operating GPS and handheld devices is helpful.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Open/close/secure work areas or buildings.
• Assist shuttle driver(s) with inbound/outbound loads.
• Ensure routes go out and bids are performed as needed.
• Manage calls and emails and assist in issue resolution.
• Maintain accurate customer information in routing and business system.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and route execution.
• Assist in reconciliation of routes when needed.
• Monitor and address product returns to warehouse.
• Follow safety guidelines including PPE and Hi-Lo licenses.
• Correctly author BOLs for transfers to other facilities.
• Manage customer door area including order accuracy and payment collection.
• Survey work area daily to identify issues affecting delivery.
• Monitor employee attendance and manage discipline.
• Maintain time keeping and payroll information.
• Lead hiring and discharge process for direct reports.
• Prepare reports for management and complete required forms.
• Train and coach subordinates for correct and safe performance.
• Conduct team meetings as directed by Transportation Manager.
• Monitor employee engagement and recognize performance.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained and functioning.
