General Summary:
Daily Thermetrics Corp., a fast-paced manufacturing company based in Houston, TX, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Logistics and Supply Chain Assistant to join our Procurement Team. In this vital role, you will coordinate international shipments, manage forwarding logistics, and ensure strict compliance with global trade regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate international shipments and ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of materials and components.
- Manage freight forwarding operations and transportation arrangements aligned with production schedules.
- Prepare and maintain accurate customs documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), Certificates of Origin (COOs), and commercial invoices.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, Incoterms, and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes.
- Track shipments and proactively address delays or disruptions to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date logistics and supply chain records in ERP systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align logistics with production and project timelines.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in the supply chain.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of procurement, shipping, and logistics, with proven work experience.
- Effective communication skills to interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, and management.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve safety and logistical issues.
- Analytical skills to analyze data, identify trends, and maintain compliance with sales and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations, preferably in manufacturing.
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field highly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of customs regulations, international compliance, Incoterms, and HTS codes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Familiarity with lean logistics or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with logistics management software and shipment tracking systems.
- Enthusiastic team player, creative thinker, focused on results, and committed to Total Quality and EHS compliance.
- Bilingual in English and another language, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, maneuver, and work on the shop floor, inventory stock room, and loading dock.
- Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in noisy fabrication shop areas as needed.
Employment Details:
- Full-Time, on-site in a manufacturing environment.
- Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM, with flexible scheduling for shifts.
- Collaborate closely with Logistics Coordinator and Shipping team.
- Report to the Procurement Director.
