Job summary

Detroit Thermal Systems, LLC is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to oversee loading and unloading operations and supervise hourly staff within the Logistics Department.

You will champion ERP and customer-system transactions, uphold company policies, plan and assign daily work, conduct daily meetings, implement 5S, and maintain a safe, productive environment while reducing backorders and shipping errors, ensure accurate cycle counts, and pursue continuous process improvements.

• Create and sustain a safe work environment.
• Create/maintain an environment where employees are motivated to take ownership of responsibilities to increase productivity.
• Continuously look for areas to reduce warehouse backorders and shipping errors while reducing costs.
• Responsible for assisting in resolving employee issues.
• Ensure safe transportation of stock to and from the lines and warehouse storage
• Ensure completion of cycle counts on a regular basis.
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Tracking and improvement of “Source Issues”.

Job description

Mission

This position is responsible for product movement within the facility which includes loading and unloading trucks. Critical to the successful movement is the proper transactions in the system. This position is responsible for supervising hourly employees in the Logistics Department. The supervisor will be required to be proficient in the company’s ERP system and customer systems. The Logistics Supervisor is expected to demonstrate proficiency in all Company policies and procedures.
