Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an experienced logistics supervisor to plan, direct, and coordinate purchasing, warehousing, distribution, forecasting, and customer service across the company.

You will lead Drivers and Tool Center personnel, manage tool programs like Tool Watch and Webduct, and ensure smooth shipping and receiving with strong communication among departments. A high school diploma is required; bachelor's preferred, and 5+ years in logistics with at least one year in a leadership role.

• 5+ years in Logistics with at least one year in a lead role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid analytical and project management skills.
• Solid computer skills: Tool Watch, Webduct, Excel.

Job description

Position Summary

Plans, directs, and coordinates purchasing, warehousing, distribution, forecasting, customer service, or planning services. Manages and leads Drivers and Tool Center personnel along with logistics’ systems while directing and participation of daily operations to ensure efficient and effective delivery and receiving across the company.

Position Details

• Supervises processes to ensure tool requests are efficiently and accurately processed. Operates and maintains tool management software and hardware. Participates in ongoing assessment and refinement of tool management system and processes.
• Manages and maintains Tool Center inventory of tools, equipment and vehicles per company policies and procedures.
• Supervises and leads the activities of employees engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials.
• Maintains systems including Tool Watch, Webduct and other logistics programs/systems as needed.
• Keeps open flow of communication between departments for effective shipping and receiving needs throughout the company
• Provides coaching and performance feedback to direct reports; participates in hiring and termination processes.
• Performs additional assignments as requested.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in Logistics, with at least one year of lead experience
• Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Solid analytical and project management skills
• Strong multi-task and prioritization skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Solid presentation skills
• Solid computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Webduct, Tool Watch
