Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Logistics Supervisor for our Hanahan, SC location. The role plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules, coordinating material requirements to ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines.

The incumbent will develop material requirements from engineering specs, manage material movement with purchasing and warehouse teams, and advise management on work-in-progress, material availability, and potential issues to maintain smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of related experience; Master’s with 4+ years.
• US citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements.
• Develops material requirements and scheduling from engineering specifications; plans and manages material movement with purchasing, warehouse and production.
• Advises management of status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure resources are provided as needed.
• Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for production or purchasing of components.
• Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; expedites movement of parts via move orders, stock transfers and shipping requests.

The Logistis Supervisor:

Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.

Develops raw material requirements, scheduling requirements from engineering specifications, production schedules, and plans and manages material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production.

Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.

Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.

Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience; Masters and four (4) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
