Job Title: Logistics Specialist

Job Description

The Logistics Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of freight movements across a large fulfillment and transportation network. In this role, you collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve transportation-related issues, drive process improvements, and support critical business operations. You use your analytical skills to extract and analyze data from multiple sources, identify trends and root causes of defects, and help optimize transportation performance. You work within tight timelines, monitor key performance metrics, and communicate insights clearly to support data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate continually with external stakeholders such as carriers, vendors, and suppliers, as well as internal stakeholders including program teams and fulfillment centers, to support transportation operations.

  • Extract data from multiple databases and systems using Excel and other data management tools to perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

  • Publish and maintain performance metrics that help drive business results and support operational decision making.

  • Identify and eliminate root causes of defects within transportation operations to improve efficiency and reliability.

  • Analyze operational trends, quickly understand their business impact, and make data-driven recommendations and decisions.

  • Systematically **escalate** problems or variances in information and data to appropriate owners and teams, and follow through on resolutions to ensure successful delivery.

  • Work within various time constraints and tight deadlines to meet critical business needs while tracking and measuring activities performed.

  • Prepare clear, concise narratives summarizing weekly findings, variances to goals, and key insights, and present these findings in review forums.

  • Support logistics, transportation, intermodal, freight, and third-party logistics activities as part of the broader transportation services function.

  • Provide operations support for B2B activities and, where applicable, ocean or cargo container logistics.

Essential Skills
  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

  • At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.

  • Experience with data analysis and the ability to interpret trends and performance metrics.

  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics concepts, including transportation and freight operations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create clear narratives and present findings to stakeholders.

  • Ability to work effectively within tight timelines and manage multiple priorities to meet critical business needs.

  • Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to identifying and resolving operational issues.

  • Comfort working with databases and data management systems for reporting and analysis.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, intermodal, freight, or third-party logistics is preferred.

  • Prior scripting knowledge (such as basic automation or data scripting) is a plus but not required.

  • Experience in B2B operations support is beneficial.

  • Experience supporting ocean or cargo container logistics is advantageous.

  • Previous experience in logistics roles within large-scale or high-volume operations is a plus.

  • Interest in growing within transportation services and pursuing long-term career opportunities in logistics and supply chain.

Work Environment

This is an onsite role within a dynamic logistics and transportation operations environment. You work closely with cross-functional teams, carriers, and vendors in a fast-paced setting that supports a large fulfillment network. The role involves regular use of computers, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and various data management systems to monitor and analyze transportation performance. You can expect a results-oriented atmosphere with tight timelines, frequent communication with internal and external partners, and regular review forums where you present operational insights.
