Job Title: White-Glove Shipping and Receiving Specialist / Forklift Operator

Job Overview:

The SPS White-Glove Shipping and Receiving Specialist / Forklift Operator at the Lab126 campus handles, delivers, sets up, and transports sensitive and high-value materials and equipment. The role requires precision, care, and efficient forklift operation to manage all received goods, ensuring accurate inventory, undamaged items, and proper placement according to client specifications. During low shipping volume periods, the role also supports Business Service Center (BSC) and other on-site facilities management duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Receiving: Operate forklifts and other equipment to move shipments; document inventory; unpack shipped materials carefully.
2. Uncrating and Assembly: Uncrate electronics and equipment per manufacturer instructions; dispose of packaging properly.
3. Delivery and Placement: Transport and place equipment within the campus safely, following floor plans or instructions.
4. Additional Services: Manage on-site inventory; assist with packing, crating, and equipment reconfiguration; support BSC and facilities management teams; report issues promptly.

Qualifications:

• Certified forklift operator with experience handling fragile/high-value equipment.
• Proficient in operating various forklifts and handling equipment.
• Skilled in furniture assembly and equipment installation.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on safety.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or in a team.
• Basic troubleshooting skills and understanding of facility protocols.

Physical Demands:

• Handle packages up to 60 lbs.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, sit for extended periods.
• Operate forklifts for long durations.
• Work in varying weather conditions.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift certification required.
• At least 1 year of similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office and relevant software.

Travel: Mainly at SJC Lab Campus; occasional travel within 25 miles as needed.

Pay Range: $28—$30 USD
