Qualifications

  • Full professional fluency in both English and Spanish, written and spoken, is required.
  • Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and cost-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and manage time-sensitive situations.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with SAP Business One, a transportation management system, or a similar platform preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned domestic shipments from order entry through final delivery.
  • Serve as the primary logistics contact for assigned customers and traders.
  • Coordinate product availability, pickup dates, shipping requirements, and delivery expectations with suppliers, freezers, and warehouses.
  • Select and secure qualified carriers based on service requirements, delivery schedules, and approved budgets.
  • Schedule plant and freezer pickups, warehouse transfers, delivery appointments, and other transportation activities.
  • Provide carriers, freezers, and warehouses with complete and accurate pickup and delivery instructions.
  • Track shipments from pickup through delivery and proactively address delays, missed appointments, equipment issues, temperature concerns, or other service exceptions.
  • Provide timely updates to customers and traders regarding shipment status, estimated delivery times, delays, and additional costs.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and professionally manage delivery concerns, rejections, claims, or service issues.
  • Maintain complete and accurate shipment information in SAP and all internal tracking systems.
  • Manage each load within the approved logistics budget and obtain approval for costs outside the established budget.
  • Minimize avoidable expenses, including layovers, detention, storage, redelivery charges, and missed appointment fees.
  • Verify pickup and delivery completion and collect required supporting documents, including bills of lading and proof of delivery.
  • Work with carriers, suppliers, freezers, warehouses, customers, and internal departments to resolve operational issues.
  • Escalate significant delays, service failures, product concerns, and additional costs to traders and management.
  • Confirm final delivery and ensure shipment records are complete and properly closed.

Position Summary

The Logistics Specialist – Domestic is responsible for managing assigned shipments from the time the load is entered into the system through final delivery to the customer.

This customer-facing role coordinates end-to-end domestic transportation, including plant and freezer pickups, warehouse transfers, delivery appointments, and final delivery. The position maintains accurate shipment information, manages each load within the approved logistics budget, and provides proactive communication to customers, traders, suppliers, carriers, warehouses, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
