We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to manage and execute end-to-end transportation and coordination of project cargo, break bulk shipments, and heavy haul freight. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project cargo, heavy haul, freight forwarding, and deep knowledge of Incoterms 2020 to ensure contractual delivery deadlines are met for domestic and international projects.

The major functions include:
  1. Plan and coordinate logistics for project cargo and break bulk shipments via sea, land, and air.
  2. Interpret and apply Incoterms 2020, freight quotations, and operational requirements to define responsibilities and risk transfer for domestic and international shipments.
  3. Demonstrate a strong understanding of freight forwarding processes, including booking, documentation, and customs clearance.
  4. Liaise with carriers, port authorities, surveyors, and third-party logistics providers to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery.
  5. Understand route planning, permitting, and escort requirements for heavy haul and oversized cargo.
  6. Prepare transport schedules and coordinate equipment mobilization.
  7. Track cargo movements and provide proactive updates to customers, mitigating risks and delays.
  8. Ensure compliance with international trade laws, regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of logistics experience in project cargo and heavy lift operations, or freight forwarding experience with a focus on heavy haul.
  • Deep understanding of Incoterms 2020 and their application in global trade and transportation contracts.
  • Familiarity with customs documentation, shipping regulations, and export requirements.
  • Experience working with technical cargo specifications and drawings, including weight and dimensional constraints.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional and international teams. Establish and maintain professional rapport with service providers and customers, both internal and external.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Certifications such as Incoterms training credentials, IATA/IMO certification, HazMat.
  • Experience in industries such as Oil & Gas or Renewable Energy.
Summary Pay Range:

$87,456.00 - $131,184.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience. Salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
