Job summary

G.D, a leader in high-tech machineries and part of Coesia, seeks a Logistics Specialist in the United States to manage customs compliance for imports and exports. You will work with brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate documentation and tariff classifications.

The role requires 3–5+ years in customs compliance, knowledge of CBP regulations, and experience with SAP or other ERP systems. A CCS certification and familiarity with trade agreements are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, international business, logistics, business administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years in customs compliance, international trade, import/export operations, or logistics in manufacturing.
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) a plus; knowledge of free trade agreements and duty drawback programs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with CBP regulations and international trade requirements.
  • Coordinate import/export clearance with brokers and freight forwarders.
  • Determine HTS classifications and ensure timely, accurate customs entries.
  • Maintain records per customs recordkeeping requirements and liaise with internal departments.
  • Monitor broker performance and resolve clearance issues.

Coesia operates in 36 countries with 20 different companies and employs over 8,000 people as of 2023.About the RolePosition Summary The Logistics Specialist manages customs compliance activities related to the importation and exportation of goods. This position works closely with logistics providers, customs brokers, government agencies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate documentation, tariff classification, valuation, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Customs Compliance • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and international trade requirements. and other government agency requirements. (TCSA, FDA, ADD/CVD) • Monitor import and export transactions for adherence to customs laws and company policies. • Maintain current knowledge of customs regulations, trade agreements, and industry best practices. • Assist with internal audits and government inquiries regarding customs activities. Import/Export Operations • Coordinate customs clearance activities with brokers and freight forwarders •Determine and maintain accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications. • Ensure customs entries are completed accurately and submitted on time. • Review customs entries for accuracy and completeness. • Maintain records in accordance with customs recordkeeping requirements. • Serve as a liaison between customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal departments. • Resolve customs clearance issues and shipment delays. • Monitor broker performance and ensure timely filing of entries.What You Need to Be SuccessfulEducation • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, International Business, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Preferred Qualifications • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) a plus. • Knowledge of free trade agreements and duty drawback programs. • Experience with CTPAT, ACE, and other customs compliance programs. Experience • 3-5+ years of experience in customs compliance, international trade, import/export operations, or logistics, in a manufacturing environment. • Experience working with customs brokers and government regulatory agencies.
