Job summary

Valleywise Health is seeking a Logistics Specialist to receive, store, and distribute medical supplies, equipment, and related items. You will manage inventory, perform routine housekeeping, and coordinate with diverse teams to ensure high customer service levels.

The role requires operating a vehicle, maintaining an AZ driver’s license, and meeting clearance card requirements, with preference for hospital/healthcare exposure and forklift training eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Prefer at least a high school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of warehouse/distribution experience preferred.
  • Hospital setting experience and exposure to JCAHO or DNV requirements preferred.
  • Must possess AZ driver’s license in good standing.
  • Fingerprint clearance card required or to be completed within 7 days of hire; card must be presented within 90 days.

Job description

Under the direction of the Manager of Supply and Logistics, this position receives, stores, and distributes medical supplies, equipment, lab specimens, linen, and mail to customers promptly and accurately. The Logistics Specialist oversees inventory control and regular, proficient workplace and vehicle housekeeping. This position works closely with various levels of the organization to ensure warehouse/distribution-related customer service levels meet or exceed customer expectations.

Hourly Pay Rate: $16.22 - $23.92

Qualifications
Education:
  • Prefer High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
  • Prefer at least one (1) year of experience in a warehouse and distribution environment that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Prefer experience working in a hospital setting and being exposed to JCAHO or DNV requirements.
Certification/Licensure:
  • This position requires operation of a vehicle. Employment is contingent upon meeting the driving eligibility standards outlined in the Valleywise Health Vehicle Use Policy (VUP).
  • Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid AZ issued driver’s license in good standing, and must carry the AZ legally required minimum insurance coverage on personal vehicle at all times.
  • Forklift certification preferred or capable of being trained on operating forklifts.
  • Ambulatory Clinics: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must safely operate a motor vehicle and efficiently follow a route to ensure timely delivery.
  • Must be customer service oriented and able to work with others, adhere to set schedules, and follow designated routes.
  • Must have the ability to use computers and handheld devices, as well as to read maps and locate addresses.
  • Some computer skills are required (basic Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • This position requires knowledge of associated tasks relating to general warehousing duties (receiving, storage, distribution), safe lifting and driving habits, mail receipt, sorting, metering, and delivery.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
