Job description

Position Summary

This position performs a variety of inventory-related duties including receiving, ordering, supply-stocking, and distribution functions for all clinical and non-clinical areas of the facility to provide for the continuous availability of supplies for efficient department operations. This role will maintain required inventory management processes and meet supply needs by assuring accurate and prompt ordering and delivery to departments with emphasis on urgent needs. Collaborates with Departmental leaders to foster a Customer service-oriented environment and precept and train new associates. May be required to fill shifts at other facilities when necessary due to need/staffing shortages.

Position Duties
  • Places routine and ad hoc supply orders, distributes, and stocks supplies to all supply locations in accordance with clinical priorities and established policies and procedures. Coordinates deliveries of supplies/other products to off-site clinics and/or facilities as needed. Monitors expiration dates, min/max levels and kanban according to established standards. Maintains a clean and safe work area. Acts as a mentor/preceptor to new and less experienced Supply Chain Associates. Able to work and complete all assigned tasks with minimal supervision from Team Lead and/or Supervisor/Manager. Acts as back-up Team Lead if necessary.
  • Receives incoming shipments into ERP system and confirms units of measure and appropriate dispensing units. Assists in resolving and reporting issues related to incoming item damages, substitutions, back orders, and misdirected orders. Provides timely processing and delivery of all incoming shipments to appropriate departments.
  • Maintains current inventory records by using appropriate Supply Chain Technologies (e.g., eStock, Lawson, etc.) to accurately document movement of supplies, to provide up-to-date inventory information. Collaborates with Inventory Control to oversee inventory management of supply areas, including min/max levels, eStock signage updates, and kanban. Effectively uses the ERP and other software to pull reports, find products, and run reports to close out daily transactions.
  • Proactively provides recommendations on operational efficiency improvements to Supply Chain Management. Collaborates with other Supply Chain stakeholders and departmental leaders to adjust par levels and address slow-moving items based on supply usage. Collaborates with Inventory Control to manage inventory including restocks and sub management. Assists in preparations for and performs regular cycle counting. Is required to be cross-trained and perform, when needed, in all other Supply Chain related responsibilities.
  • Receives urgent supply requests from departments, verifies urgent nature, and if necessary, coordinates immediate delivery of items ensuring accuracy and timeliness of response in accordance with established standards.
  • Stocks and replenishes code carts, mother carts, airway bags to provide for ongoing availability of required items in accordance with established policies and procedures. Troubleshoots supply shortage issues and reports known impacts to Supply Chain leaders and Inventory Control.
  • Re-stocks clean equipment rooms by established par levels and delivers equipment upon request.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
Position Qualifications
Education

High School diploma or equivalent or five (5) years of experience in Inventory, Materials Management, or Supply Chain (in lieu of diploma or equivalent).

Experience

Minimum of three (3) years of work experience, to include experience in at least one of the following disciplines: distribution, warehousing, shipping, receiving, logistics, material handling, inventory control, or other comparable supply chain service line.

Experience in Supply Chain management and operation improvement in a healthcare setting.

Special Skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of health care Supply Chain management.

Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.

Demonstrable customer service skills including strong communication and problem-solving abilities to anticipate customer needs and swiftly and effectively resolve issues.

Current and valid Arizona Driver’s License.
