Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Logistics Specialist (2nd Shift) for the Space Division at Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, FL. This onsite, full-time role provides critical logistics support for the CRCA Facility, ensuring accurate receipt, custody transfer, and movement of equipment and materials.

The position requires a high school diploma, 1+ year in scheduling, shipping/receiving, or related areas, strong computer skills, and a safe driving record; CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive equipment and materials from customers, document transfer of custody, inspect and document any damage or other anomalous conditions, review customer work request for accuracy and completeness and address any issues found with customer.
• Transfer work request data into laboratory Work Control System (WCS) and maintain status of all work in progress.
• Relocate incoming equipment and materials to laboratory/shop areas and completed equipment materials back to Logistics area; return to customer and document transfer of custody.
• Operate vehicle to pickup and deliver received materials, supplies, components, and equipment to various locations at KSC.
• Order laboratory supplies and materials as needed; update receiving records upon receipt; deliver to requester or warehouse for bulk storage.
• Maintain shop stock by issuing materials on request and ordering replacements to maintain stock levels.
• Locate vendors and price and initiate procurement for parts and materials needed for refurbishing equipment and components in the lab.
• Maintain certifications, licenses, permits, etc., required for performance of tasks (e.g., forklift operator).
• Perform any other related duties as required.

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Specialist located at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL. This fulltime position is responsible for providing logistical support within the Component Refurbishment and Chemical Analysis (CRCA) Facility. Work will be performed onsite at the Kennedy Space Center. This position supports the Space Division at the Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Required Qualifications / Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 years of experience in one or more of the following: scheduling, shipping and receiving, customer support, material planning, or related experience.
• Working knowledge of computer operating system(s) and standard computer applications.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Safe driving record.

• General working knowledge of Logistics processes.

Responsibilities

• Relocate incoming equipment and materials to laboratory/shop areas and completed equipment materials back to Logistics area. Return to customer and document transfer of custody.
• Operate vehicle to pickup and deliver received materials, supplies, components, and equipment to various locations at KSC.
• Order laboratory supplies and materials as needed. Upon receipt of purchased material, equipment, or service update receiving records. Deliver received material or equipment to the requester or to warehouse for bulk storage.
• Maintain shop stock by issuing materials on request and ordering replacement materials to maintain required stock levels.
• Locate vendors and price and initiate procurement request for parts and materials needed to refurbish equipment and components being serviced by the component cleaning lab.
• Maintain certifications, licenses, permits, etc., required for performance of assigned tasks, i.e. forklift operator.
• Perform any other related and/or associate duties as required.
