Job summary

The Logistics Specialist at STN, Inc. will own systematic inventory management for the Odessa operation, ensuring records match physical stock and align with designated storage locations.

You will work with the on-site Logistics Coordinator, warehouse staff, and management to track movements, resolve discrepancies, and improve data visibility. You must be detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable operating in both office and warehouse

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and timely inventory records within the designated inventory management system, ensuring system quantities, locations, and material status align with physical inventory.
  • Process and track inventory movements including receiving, transfers, relocations, staging, consumption, and movement between warehouses, yards, laydown areas, and other designated locations.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies including missing, misplaced, or incorrectly recorded materials, while maintaining accurate documentation for inventory transactions, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Maintain systematic inventory data integrity by promptly updating inventory records following physical movements and monitoring transactions, locations, and material status for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Improve inventory visibility and control by maintaining inventory reports, identifying recurring discrepancies and process gaps, and recommending improvements to inventory accuracy, efficiency, and overall control.
  • Coordinate with Logistics Coordinators and material-handling personnel to ensure physical inventory movements are properly communicated, verified, and recorded, while supporting receiving, staging, and inventory activities during high-volume periods.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment by following established safety procedures when working around forklifts, heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, loading/unloading areas, and active yard operations.

Overview

The Logistics Specialist owns systematic inventory management for the Odessa logistics operation, ensuring inventory records are accurate, timely, and aligned with physical inventory across all designated storage and staging locations. The role works closely with the on-site Logistics Coordinator, material handlers, warehouse personnel, and Logistics Operations Management to track material movements, resolve discrepancies, maintain data integrity, and improve inventory visibility — freeing Logistics Coordinators to focus on the physical execution of shipments, unloading, material handling, staging, and transportation activities.


Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Control

  • Maintain accurate and timely inventory records within the designated inventory management system, ensuring system quantities, locations, and material status align with physical inventory.
  • Process and track inventory movements including receiving, transfers, relocations, staging, consumption, and movement between warehouses, yards, laydown areas, and other designated locations.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies including missing, misplaced, or incorrectly recorded materials, while maintaining accurate documentation for inventory transactions, transfers, and adjustments.

Systematic Data & Reporting

  • Maintain systematic inventory data integrity by promptly updating inventory records following physical movements and monitoring transactions, locations, and material status for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Improve inventory visibility and control by maintaining inventory reports, identifying recurring discrepancies and process gaps, and recommending improvements to inventory accuracy, efficiency, and overall control.

  • Coordinate with Logistics Coordinators and material-handling personnel to ensure physical inventory movements are properly communicated, verified, and recorded, while supporting receiving, staging, and inventory activities during high-volume periods.

Experience & Qualifications

Preferred

  • Experience with cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with inventory, warehouse, ERP, TMS, or other logistics management systems.
  • Experience working with forklifts or other material-handling equipment is a plus.

Compensation

  • Full-Time, Exempt
  • $60,000-$70,000/year, DOE
