Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Company is seeking a Logistics Planner in Atlanta to coordinate inbound and outbound freight, optimize transport movements, and ensure timely service for internal and external customers. The role requires up to 5% travel and may include occasional night or weekend work.

You will monitor performance metrics, manage carriers, and drive continuous improvement in transportation processes. A 2+ year background in supply chain and strong Excel/Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required.
• Minimum of 2 years related work experience in Supply Chain.
• Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to analyze problem situations and make fact-based decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Routing and Scheduling software and Transportation Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily execution of inbound/outbound shipments for selected facilities and suppliers.
• Responsible for achieving fiscal year financial and performance goals and objectives.
• Manage transportation events to ensure manufacturing, supplier and customer satisfaction.
• Review weekly service metrics for selected facilities including cost, on-time performance, and carrier capacity.
• Ensure carrier receipt and response of daily load tenders and perform load tendering processes.
• Track loads and hold carriers accountable for on-time pickup and delivery.
• Communicate with internal/external customers and carriers.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Manage carrier trailer pools at selected facilities and suppliers.
