Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking an Operations Intern Fall 2026 in Houston, TX.

The role will provide exposure to transportation and logistics operations, including planning freight, asset utilization, and DOT compliance, under close supervision. The intern will participate in daily tasks across supply chain activities and gain understanding of industry trends and company initiatives related to driver retention.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program OR graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited community college, college or university.
• Must be able to work 20-25 hours a week during the school semester.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of basic transportation management principles.
• Become involved and participate in daily operational tasks including planning of freight; asset utilization; safety management; Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance; driver payroll; Customer Value Delivery; logistics management/analysis; driver supervision; profit-and-loss management; maintenance coordination.
• Gain understanding of industry trends and company initiatives as it relates to driver retention.
• Perform pertinent account-specific duties as required by customer.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
