Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily logistics operations including transportation, storage, loading, and delivery of equipment.
  • Manage freight procurement, negotiate transport agreements, and optimize logistics costs.
  • Develop relationships with carriers, warehouses, and logistics providers nationwide.
  • Oversee warehouse and yard activities ensuring inventory accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate loading, unloading, rigging, and cargo securement per safety requirements.
  • Monitor carrier performance, service quality, and contractual compliance.
  • Partner with project teams on logistics planning, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, policies, and customer specs.
  • Track KPIs and supplier performance; provide regular operational reporting.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities focusing on safety and cost control.
  • Provide leadership to logistics activities aligned with Supply Chain goals.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Supervisor to lead logistics activities supporting the transportation, storage, handling, and delivery of large electrical equipment throughout the United States.

This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for someone with a strong background in transportation, freight procurement, warehousing, carrier management, or project logistics. The ideal candidate will be comfortable coordinating multiple logistics partners, negotiating transportation services, managing operational priorities, and ensuring equipment moves safely and efficiently from origin to destination.

Experience with heavy haul, project cargo, utility equipment, transformers, voltage regulators, or other industrial equipment is highly valued.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee daily logistics operations, including transportation, storage, loading, and delivery of voltage regulators and related equipment.
  • Manage freight procurement activities, negotiate transportation agreements, and identify opportunities to optimize logistics costs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, warehouses, and logistics service providers throughout the United States.
  • Oversee warehouse and storage yard activities, ensuring inventory accuracy, equipment preservation, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate loading, unloading, rigging, and cargo securement activities in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Monitor carrier performance, delivery reliability, service quality, and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Partner with project teams on logistics planning, scheduling, execution, and operational reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, company policies, and customer specifications.
  • Track logistics KPIs and supplier performance and provide regular operational reporting.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities focused on safety, cost reduction, service performance, and operational excellence.
  • Provide leadership and direction to logistics activities while supporting the overall goals of the Supply Chain organization.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in transportation, warehousing, logistics operations, supply chain, or a related environment.
  • Working knowledge of freight procurement, carrier management, warehouse operations, and transportation regulations.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate logistics activities across multiple locations and service providers.
  • Experience working with heavy equipment, project cargo, or complex transportation requirements is strongly preferred.
Preferred Industry Experience
