Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Atlanta, GA is hiring a Manager Trainee, January 2027, within the Supply Chain organization.

The role focuses on learning management of a driver count, coordinating with drivers and carriers, and ensuring safe, timely freight movement with compliance to DOT regulations. Responsibilities include developing relationships with drivers, supporting fleet operations, and performing administrative duties such as payroll and budgeting while preparing for leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of management/transportation experience
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment
• Experience managing a team is preferred
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and handle conflicts effectively

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and carriers
• Fill in for absent personnel and on special projects to optimize fleet operations
• Learn to train and orient drivers and staff on systems
• Analyze and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis
• Manage yard and equipment maintenance coordination to ensure safety and reliability
• Coordinate with drivers, customers and staff to resolve service issues and routing problems
• Maintain safety culture and ensure DOT compliance across operations
• Plan loads, routes, and monitor freight movement to meet customer requirements
