Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking a Logistics Operations Manager to lead inland logistics activities across North America, including last-mile, truck, and rail transport. You will collaborate with internal teams, partners, and carriers to ensure timely, cost-efficient execution and carrier performance.

In this role, you will forecast capacity, guide WW VPCs, and drive cross-functional improvement initiatives—implementing Nissan and WW IT projects while managing carrier onboarding and risk

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in planning and directing operations.
• 3+ years experience managing the employee lifecycle (interviewing, hiring, performance, promotions).
• Understanding revenue drivers and efficiency standards to deliver positive financial results.
• Familiarity with SOP, MRP, TQM, JIT, Kaizen, 5S and visual factory management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Overview

The Logistics Operations Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for inland logistics activities across North America, including last-mile, truck, and rail transportation. This role serves as the primary liaison between internal departments, external partners, carriers, contractors, and OEM stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficient execution. The position is also responsible for managing carrier and contractor performance across cost, service, capacity, communication, claims support, and on-time delivery reliability.

Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead efforts to meet and exceed wholesale delivery targets by forecasting capacity, aligning resources, and partnering with Sales, Vehicle Operations, and key stakeholders. Provide daily direction to WW VPCs across North America to ensure accurate vehicle revenue recognition for Nissan.
• Lead the implementation of Nissan and WW digital/IT projects to improve logistics, streamline workflows, and enhance customer experience while ensuring seamless integration across Nissan systems and teams.
• Manage the end-to-end onboarding of new carriers, ensuring compliance with all Nissan requirements and minimizing operational risk.
• Partner with SCM, Quality, IS/IT, and Finance to achieve business objectives, drive continuous improvement, strengthen cross-functional relationships, support TMS implementation, manage carrier audit responses, and improve system connectivity, compliance, and operational performance.

Job Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 5-7 years in planning and directing operations
• At least 3 years experience managing the employee lifecycle including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, development, terminations, and moves
• Skill at interpreting diagrams and repair manuals
• Understand revenue drivers and efficiency standards to deliver positive financial results
• SOP, MRP, TQM, JIT, Kaizen, 5S, and visual factory management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel software applications
• Clean driving record, ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions

Note-this role requires the flexibility to work shifts, weekends and holidays
