Job summary

NWU is seeking a logistics-focused intern to support inbound shipments, verify packing lists, and assist with BOL preparation and shipping documentation. You will learn WMS usage, inventory controls, and cross-functional collaboration to resolve operational issues.

This entry-level role emphasizes attention to detail, Excel proficiency, and strong communication as you contribute to cycle counts, shipping records, and daily operational reporting.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and effective written communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduling inbound shipments and container arrivals.
• Verify packing lists against receiving documentation and physical inventory.
• Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and report discrepancies.
• Ensure received materials are processed accurately within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Review and verify customer orders prior to shipment.
• Assist with Bill of Lading (BOL) preparation and shipping documentation.
• Generate and apply shipping labels.
• Coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries.
• Support truck loading activities while ensuring shipping accuracy.
• Maintain shipping records and upload required documentation.
• Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
• Assist with inventory discrepancy investigations and root cause analysis.
• Maintain accurate inventory records within the WMS.
• Support inventory reconciliation efforts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Learn and utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to support daily operations.
• Process logistics and inventory-related documentation.
• Maintain organized records and operational reports.
• Communicate with internal teams to resolve operational issues and support customer needs.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse operations.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
