Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Michigan is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to assist in coordinating ocean export shipments and to communicate with shippers and carriers. You will support order management and problem resolution for customers in a fast-paced logistics environment.

The role runs Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm with a pay of $20.75 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package. Preferred candidates have 6 months to 1 year in warehouse or logistics experience and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred.
• 6 months – 1 year warehouse or logistics experience, preferred.
• Communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and work as part of a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate export/import shipments.
• Coordinate schedules with carriers and tender shipments.
• Track and trace shipments.
• Maintain SAP Transportation Management System.
• Prepare and publish daily, weekly reports.
• Assist in data collection for performance analysis.
• Identify issues and communicate with management.
• Answer billing questions when needed.
• Prepare client invoice packets.

Role Purpose

Assist in coordinating truck, rail, and international shipments. Provide communication to both shippers and carriers. Assist in coordinating and providing problem-solving and order management for customers.

Key Accountabilities

• Assist in coordination of export/import shipments.
• Establish and coordinate schedule with carrier and tender shipments.
• Track and trace all shipments.
• Update and maintain Transportation Management System(s) – SAP.
• Prepare and publish daily, weekly reports.
• Obtain data to assist in analysis on performance trends.
• Proactively identify problems to management.
• Answer and resolve basic billing questions when needed.
• Prepare client invoice packets
• Confirm rates with carriers.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferred
• 6 months – 1 year warehouse or logistics experience, preferred
• Communication and customer service skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually
