Job Responsibilities
  • Direct and handle incoming trucks arriving at the plant to initiate the intake process.
  • Assist in the physical unloading of incoming shipments, delivery trucks, and heavy freight using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Perform receiving inspections to verify product quantity, check for damage, and validate documentation to ensure accurate initial inventory capture.
  • Promptly notify supervisors of major inbound discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions to prevent inventory system errors.
  • Package and unpackage incoming materials; breakdown and repalletize products to adhere to plant specifications before putting them into inventory.
  • Arrange and coordinate required domestic and international outgoing freight.
  • Schedule trucks and logistics carriers to pick up outbound shipments and production scrap.
  • Prepare all Bills of Lading (BOL) and required shipping paperwork for compliance (i.e., Proforma Invoices, Country of Origin, etc.), completing paperwork per work instructions to legally deduct items from active inventory.
  • Prepare outbound packaging per customer specifications.
  • Perform final shipping inspections to verify correctness and quality of outgoing material shipments and labeling against inventory order pick lists.
  • Package, unpackage, and assist in the secure loading of outgoing trucks, flatbeds, containers, and freight trailers to finalize the shipping cycle.
  • Obtain and maintain forklift and telehandler certification, and safely assist in spotting telehandler drivers when needed to ensure safe material movement.
  • Move, organize, and strategically store raw materials and finished goods in the warehouse or yard using forklifts, telehandlers, or cranes to maintain precise physical inventory locations.
  • Deliver required materials to elevators to prevent downtime, supporting output by issuing inventory to production.
  • Identify, hold, and segregate defective or damaged materials or packaging materials away from good inventory.
  • Perform necessary stock transfers and shipping/receiving functions in SAP, MES, and HBW systems to keep virtual and physical inventory synchronized.
  • Manage all scrap weight tickets and execute all scrap processing functions directly in SAP to accurately write off scrap inventory.
  • Perform manual inventory adjustments, assist in cycle counts, and perform physical material inventories to establish, maintain, and document receipt, shipment, and total control.
  • Assist in managing all plant packaging using databases.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, performing other clerical duties and assigned tasks as needed to protect inventory integrity.
  • As the facility scales, this role may require guiding and training temporary associates to ensure they safely and accurately follow plant work instructions, material handling protocols, and safety standards.
