Role snapshotStep into a hands-on logistics role where you keep projects moving by receiving, organizing, and transporting materials with precision and care. As a Logistics & Material Handling Specialist, you’ll ensure inventory is processed safely, accurately, and on time—every shift.A day in the lifeYou start by reviewing inbound schedules and confirming receiving paperwork. A trailer backs into the dock—you verify counts, inspect for damage, and get product into the right slots. Using a sit-down or reach forklift and electric pallet jack, you move pallets to designated locations, label and organize inventory, and stage orders for outbound runs to job sites.Midday, you pull pick tickets, consolidate materials, and double-check accuracy. You might deliver equipment or materials to a job site and pick up returns from vendors or supply houses—keeping detailed logs along the way. Throughout the day, you keep aisles clear, maintain housekeeping standards, and immediately flag any incorrect, short-shipped, or damaged items to your supervisor. You wrap up by updating documentation, conducting safety checks, and leaving the warehouse safe and accessible for your teammates.Duties may vary by location, and you may be asked to support other tasks as assigned. What you’ll handleReceive and verify inbound merchandise from external vendorsRead, pick, and stage orders accurately for delivery to job sitesMove inventory across facilities using forklifts and pallet jacksSort, organize, label, and store materials in proper locationsDeliver and pick up equipment/materials from job sites, vendors, and supply housesReport damaged, missing, or short-shipped items immediatelyMaintain logs, counts, and documentation for inventory processingKeep the warehouse safe, clean, and accessible for all associatesFollow company policies and procedures, especially safety requirementsMust-haves1+ year of prior warehouse experienceAbility to operate a forklift and pallet jackValid driver’s license (required for deliveries and pickups)High school diploma or GED (related experience may substitute)Effective English communication skills, verbal and writtenWillingness to work overtime with short notice; occasional weekendsNice to haveExperience using or towing with a trailerHow you’ll thriveOperate confidently in a fast-paced warehouseBring a proactive, safety-first mindsetWork independently and as a dependable team memberDemonstrate strong organization and attention to detailBuild positive relationships with internal and external customersCollaborate effectively across all levels of the organizationMaintain a positive attitude and eagerness to learnWorking conditionsWarehouse environment with travel by vehicle to and from work locationsIndoor and outdoor work in all weather (heat, rain, cold, wind) with appropriate PPEPhysical demandsDrive/operate motorized passenger vehicles and forkliftsLift and move up to 50 pounds frequentlyFrequent climbing, bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, and crouchingWork at heights; climb ladders and stairways; occasional platform/scaffolding work with fall protectionWear required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective vests, gloves, and safety-toe construction-grade bootsStand, walk, or sit for extended periodsHear and distinguish speech and other sounds to safely operate equipment/phonesClose, distance, and peripheral vision with normal depth perception (with or without correction)Clearly express ideas verballyEnter data via keyboard and/or 10-keyUse arms/hands to reach overhead; signal, grasp, hold, lift, turn, push, and pull tools and materialsTools & technologySit-down forkliftReach forkliftCherry picker (order picker)Electric pallet jackManual pallet jackForklifts (various)You should be proficient in general warehouse operations.
