Job summary

Ellwood Specialty Metals is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Material Handler in New Castle, PA to support daily shipping and receiving operations. The role reports to the Manager of Shipping and Receiving and involves material handling, inspection, and documentation to ensure accurate orders.

Responsibilities include palletizing, verifying bills of lading, staging, and forklift operation. The position requires vigilance for safety and adherence to procedures in a dock/warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Shipping/Receiving experience preferred.
• Able to understand basic correspondence and charts.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and use measuring tools.
• Vision and hearing required for safety and communication.

Responsibilities

• Band material to pallets based on size and weight using banding materials.
• Liaise with Logistics Coordinator using BOLs for shipments and verify orders.
• Stage loading areas with equipment and space for shipping.
• Receive incoming shipments, check packing slips against purchase orders, identify damaged items.
• Operate forklift to move material between receiving and shipping areas; assist with loading/unloading.
• Notify supervisor of major discrepancies and follow safety procedures.
