Job summary

Priority Waste is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead a team of drivers at our Burton, MI yard. You will coordinate daily logistics operations, oversee route performance, and provide real-time support to drivers while coordinating with internal teams to drive service excellence.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in logistics with supervisory experience, strong knowledge of routing and fleet operations, and excellent leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Strong knowledge of routing, dispatch, and fleet operations.
• Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics/route management systems.
• Customer-focused with strong organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of drivers, including daily oversight, coaching, and performance management.
• Assign and adjust routes and carrier responsibilities to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Provide real-time support to drivers throughout their routes, resolving service, safety, and equipment issues.
• Serve as the escalation point for customer concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Collaborate with logistics, customer service, and quality teams to drive service excellence.
• Monitor route performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new drivers and provide ongoing coaching.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and implement operational enhancements.
• Monitor waste storage areas, documentation, equipment, and procedures from the Burton, MI yard.
