Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. in Fontana is hiring for a driver/lead role responsible for orienting new drivers, coordinating vehicle movements, and maintaining daily logs.

You will oversee lane leadership on sale days and ensure efficient staging of lease lanes and pre-sales. The position requires a valid driver’s license and a track record of safe driving, with additional responsibilities including transporting staff and vehicles, conducting routine van maintenance, and upholding Safety Excellence

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years' related experience.
• Or equivalent combination of degree/certification beyond HS with 5 years' experience.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Orient and instruct new drivers and assist in assigning/directing work.
• Communicate with supervisor to assure proper flow of vehicles and maintain stock logs.
• Communicate schedules and assignments to crew members.
• Serve as lane leader on sale days.
• Coordinate move requirements with lot manager and quadrant coordinator.
• Assist in staging lease lanes and pre-sales; ensure timely pickup/drop-off of employees and vehicles.
• Transport vans and drivers to locations; shuttle employees to parking lots and remote sites.
• Perform daily maintenance and checks of vans; fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Follow safety procedures and support Safety Excellence initiatives.
• Work with management to monitor staffing levels and improve efficiency and customer service.
• Lead the team at the location by upholding Cox/Manheim values and respectful conduct.
• Enforce company policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned; overtime may be required.
