Job summary

Clorox is seeking a Plant Operations Lead to manage daily activities on the loading dock and coordinate between the hourly workforce and management. This role operates on a night shift from 6:00 pm to 6:30 am with a 2-2-3 schedule in Wheeling, IL, starting pay of $30.83 plus $1.35 shift differential.

You will drive safety, plan operations, lead meetings, manage inventory, and interface with vendors and fleet.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in plant operations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize to optimize plant performance.
• Strong training abilities.
• Proficient with network computer applications and email.
• Willingness to make decisions using sound judgment based on available information.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily work floor activities.
• Plan and schedule the efficient operation of the loading dock.
• Lead Distribution Department safety effort in support of plant performance goals.
• Coordinate training and development activities.
• Lead daily start of shift and end of department meetings.
• Offload and manage bulk material inventory (soybean oil, vinegar, etc.).
• Manage material flows to provide efficient operations.
• Interface with supply vendors and the on-site dedicated fleet to service the department.
• Lead timely problem resolution efforts.
• Participate in quality audits as needed.
• Support and troubleshoot palletizer machine performance.
• Manage on-site recyclables and order pick-ups as needed.
• Initiate timely communication flow through the organization.
• Drive department improvement initiatives consistent with the plant strategy.
• Perform any assigned duties that fall within the scope of this job as defined by management.

Your role at Clorox:

The purpose of this position is to lead and carry out all daily business-related activities associated with general plant operations and to act as the liaison between the hourly work force and management, and to provide innovative and sound tactical thinking to achieve the appropriate levels of operating performance.

Starting Pay Rate: $30.83 + $1.35 Shift Differential

Work Hours: 6:00pm to 6:30am

Shift Schedule: 2-2-3 schedule

• Week 1: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on
• Week 2: 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off
