Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily logistics activities to support production schedules and delivery requirements.
  • Assign, prioritize, and support daily work for receiving, kitting, movement, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Ensure accurate inventory records and timely ERP/MRP transactions.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and support cycle counts and audits.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Train and mentor logistics personnel, promoting safety and 5S.
  • Monitor workflow and address issues to minimize delays and sustain production.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance material flow and accuracy.
  • Track KPIs and support continuous improvement in warehouse and logistics.
  • Develop reporting tools and complete data accuracy audits.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $95,000.00 Annually

Reports to : Logistics Manager

Location : DMG MORI Manufacturing USA, Inc.

Hours : Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00pm

Classification : Exempt

Travel : 0 - 10%

The Logistics Lead is responsible for coordinating daily logistics operations to support manufacturing, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure on-time customer deliveries. This role provides day-to-day leadership and guidance to warehouse personnel while ensuring efficient material flow, accurate ERP/MRP transactions, and timely execution of receiving, kitting, inventory control, material movement, and shipping activities. The Logistics Lead works closely with Production, Production Management, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to support operational efficiency, drive continuous improvement, promote safety and 5S practices, and contribute to overall customer satisfaction.

  • Coordinate daily logistics activities to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Assign, prioritize, and support daily work activities for receiving, kitting, material movement, shipping, and inventory control using the production management system.
  • Ensure accurate inventory records and timely ERP/MRP transactions related to material movement, receiving, issuing, and shipping.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, perform cycle counts, and support inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with internal teams, external suppliers, customers, and transportation providers.
  • Train, mentor, and support logistics personnel while promoting safety, teamwork, accountability, and 5S standards.
  • Monitor daily workflow and address operational issues to minimize delays and support production continuity.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, improve material flow, and enhance inventory accuracy.
  • Track logistics-related KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve overall warehouse and logistics performance.
  • Develop reporting and analysis tools for and complete audits of data accuracy.
  • KPIs for this role include: Inventory Accuracy, On-Time Material Delivery, Production On-Time Shipment Performance, Receiving Productivity Kitting Accuracy, ERP/MRP Transaction Accuracy, Cycle Count Accuracy, Warehouse Safety & 5S Compliance, Team Productivity, Continuous Improvement Results
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience leading daily warehouse operations and coordinating teams
  • Strong ERP/MRP, inventory control, and Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Adaptable to a changing work environment including shifting priorities and schedules
Physical Demands:

Frequent: Travel, operating a vehicle, sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, and reaching. Pushing, pulling, and lifting objects. Repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements.

Periodic: Operating power equipment, sitting at desk, utilizing computers and phones.

Occasional: Lifting or moving up to 50lbs.
