Job summary

Synectic Solutions, Inc. (SSI) provides logistics, engineering, and information technology services to government customers. The Logistics Engineer, Journeyman position supports NSG PSMI in acquisition, in-service logistics, and sustainment of weapon systems and related equipment.

The role involves reviewing data, supporting design reviews, testing, and documentation, with CAC and SECRET clearance requirements. A strong engineering/logistics background and DoD experience are expected.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related Science field (aerospace, civil, electrical, etc.).
  • Six years of relevant work can substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Three to ten years in engineering or logistics roles; Navy/NAVAIR experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform engineering and logistics analysis with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with CM standards (SAE-EIA-649), IPS elements, and SE reviews.

  • Set up tests with standard/modified equipment; record results and prepare reports.
  • Support R&D projects; assist with prototype development and testing.
  • Design and coordinate test setups; assess performance, cost, and ops needs.

Job description

The Logistics Engineer, Journeyman supports the NAVAIR Sustainment Group (NSG) Product Support Integration Management (PSMI) Department in its acquisition and in-servicelogisticssupport of weapon systems, systems of systems, sub-systems, and support equipment for PEO (U/W) and PMX 259. This role performs assigned functional duties independently and provideslogisticsand engineering technical support that helps sub-contractors, program management, and Government customers effectively and economically support the manufacture, modification, and sustainment of assigned weapons systems and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Review engineering data and help create or update schematics, drawings, specifications, and parts lists. Support design reviews, configuration audits, and technical documentation efforts.
  • Set up and perform tests using standard and modified equipment and procedures. Record results, identify issues, analyze data, and prepare test reports.
  • Support research and development projects under the guidance of senior engineers. Assist with prototype development, testing, redesigns, and reporting findings.
  • Help design and coordinate test setups to evaluate new concepts and system modifications. Assess feasibility by considering performance, cost, and operational requirements.
  • Assist with logistics planning by reviewing customer requirements, contract changes, and engineering updates. Maintain databases, analyze data, and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Notices of Revision (NORs), and Specification Change Notices (SCNs) and recommend disposition consistent with NAVAIR configuration-management policy and execution/supportability criteria.
  • Participate in Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs), Reliability Control Boards, Functional and Physical Configuration Audits, and related technical forums; document findings and recommend corrective actions to Government stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Engineering or a related Science discipline (aerospace, civil, computer, electrical, electronics, industrial, mechanical, or nuclear engineering).
  • Six (6) years of directly relevant work experience may be substituted for theBachelor'sdegree, or anAssociate'sdegree plus four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Three (3) to ten (10) years of experience in an engineering orlogisticsposition. Experience with Naval Weapon Systems or NAVAIR programs is preferred but notrequired.
  • Ability to perform standard engineering andlogisticsanalysis, design review, and test-support tasks independently, with general oversight from senior engineering staff on complex or high-visibility items.
  • Working familiarity with configuration management standards (SAE-EIA-649), systems engineering processes, and Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) at time ofhireand maintainrequired Information Awareness Training.
  • Must be able to work at the classification level of SECRET and comply withNISPOM and DoDinformation-securityrequirements.
