STARC Systems is seeking a Logistics & Distribution Specialist to manage shipping, receiving, inventory, and production support. You will handle daily logistics tasks, coordinate with carriers, and help improve processes in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with internal teams and external partners. This is a first shift position with a pay range that reflects experience and market location.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in logistics, shipping and receiving, or distribution.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and freight or carrier management tools.
• Knowledge of LTL and FTL freight processes, carrier selection, and rate coordination.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials, unload trucks, verify and count shipments, log into the ERP system, and store correctly.
• Process customer orders by picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment with accuracy.
• Organize and consolidate items to maintain an efficient workspace following 5S lean principles.
• Support efficient flow of materials and reduce waste in movement and activities.
• Unload finished production goods and place them in designated picking areas as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, vendors, and carriers.

Description

The successful Logistics & Distribution Specialist will be a highly motivated, hands‑on individual with a proven ability to support high-performing manufacturing and distribution operations. This role requires someone who is comfortable working directly in the day-to-day details of logistics, shipping, receiving, inventory coordination, and production support while also helping improve processes, communication, and overall operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can operate with minimal direction and supervision in a fast-paced, complex environment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, multitasking ability, and follow-through are essential. This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as the Logistics & Distribution Specialist will work closely with internal teams, external partners, vendors, and carriers.

This role is well suited for someone who is eager to continue developing their leadership skills, contribute to a strong team environment, and grow into increased responsibility over time. Strong computer skills and the ability to manage competing priorities are critical to success in this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive incoming materials, unloading trucks, verifying and counting each shipment, logging into the ERP system and storing in the appropriate rack or location; Perform the day-to-day shipping and receiving operations, ensuring compliance with productivity, quality, delivery and customer service standards.
• Process customer orders by selecting, picking, and packing items accurately for shipment, while verifying each order for accuracy and completeness before shipping.
• Organize and consolidate similar items to maintain an efficient, orderly workspace in accordance with 5S lean principles.
• Assist with an efficient flow of materials throughout the shop and the reduction of waste in movement and activities.
• Unload finished production goods and place them in the designated picking area as needed.
• Supports and models STARC Systems values and mission.
• Includes other duties as assigned that are relevant to the role and in support of company needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in logistics, shipping and receiving, or distribution.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and freight or carrier management tools.
• Knowledge of LTL and FTL freight processes, carrier selection, and rate coordination.

Schedule and Compensation:

This is a first shift position with hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 to $24.00 per hour.
