Job summary

Intermountain Health in Salt Lake City is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of items. The role spans Dispatch, Training, Vehicle Maintenance, Administrative and Logistics, with a PRN schedule and 24+ hours per week.

You will coordinate drivers, assist in training, help maintain vehicles, and support billing, payroll and compliance while serving internal customers. A valid driver’s license and a DOT Medical Card are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with no restrictions.
• A DOT Medical Card
• Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to follow assigned schedule.
• Demonstrated ability to use computerized tracking system.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and follow department procedures and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to comply with Intermountain Healthcare's Motor Vehicle Driver Policy.
• Valid CDL Medical Card.
• Be 21 or older as required by the DOT to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
• Pass a driver's road test as required by DOT to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
• Demonstrated ability to use basic office, dispatch and email programs.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and deal with stressful situations.
• Six months experience as a transportation driver with Intermountain Healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate driver activities to meet customer needs.
• Coordinate and participate in training with employees, teaching and reinforcing department procedures.
• Coordinate and assist in the maintenance and repair of vehicles.
• Coordinate and support billing, accounts payable, payroll, building scheduling, information systems, technology and compliance.
• Develop employee work schedules and audit route performance.
• Safely operate a motor vehicle to deliver equipment and supplies.
• Provide excellent customer service and listen to customer feedback.
• Communicate clearly and keep others informed.
• Manage time, set priorities and allocate resources.
• Adapt to changing business needs and learn new methods.
• Use computer applications to input, store and retrieve information.
