Job summary

Figure, an AI robotics company in San Jose, seeks a leader to build and run field logistics and dispatch from the ground up. You will design processes, hire and manage coordinators and dispatchers, and own the equipment lifecycle across HQ, warehouses, and customer sites.

You'll partner with commercial and data teams, implement real-time location tracking, and scale the function as the company expands—driving efficiency, reliability, and strong cross‑team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years in logistics, dispatch, fleet operations, or field equipment coordination.
• Experience hiring, managing, and developing a team.
• Ownership of physical equipment through full cycle - dispatch, delivery, recovery, return.
• A bias toward building systems and process over working around gaps.
• Excellent communication skills - coordinating across multiple teams and external partners.
• Proficiency with tracking systems, spreadsheets, and project management tools (Google Sheets, Jira, Confluence, inventory systems).
• Valid driver's license.

• Hire and lead a team: recruit, hire, and manage coordinators and dispatchers for day-to-day logistics.
• Own the equipment lifecycle end to end: requests, scheduling, delivery, tracking, returns, inspection, and damage logging.
• Build the real-time source of truth: establish systems giving live visibility into equipment location and availability.
• Own the transportation fleet: manage internal fleet and strategy for supplemental transport as needs scale.
• Build the contingency playbook and lead responses when issues arise in the field.

Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.

We are looking for someone to build and lead our field logistics & dispatch function from the ground up. You will design the system and infrastructure to move robots and equipment between HQ/warehouse, active data collection locations, and customer sites and hire and manage the team that runs it.

You will work closely with the commercial operations and data operations teams, and you will have real authority to make the call on how this function is structured, staffed, and run as the company scales. This role requires excellent leadership, problem solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build the function: Design and stand up the processes, SOPs, and checklists for kitting, dispatch, delivery, and returns.
• Hire and lead a team: Recruit, hire, and manage the coordinators and dispatchers who will execute day‑to‑day logistics as volume grows. Set the bar for how the team operates.
• Own the equipment lifecycle end to end: Requests, scheduling, delivery, tracking, returns, inspection, and damage logging across every active site.
• Build the real‑time source of truth: Establish the systems and tracking that give the company accurate, live visibility into equipment location, quantity, and availability across all active sites.
• Own the transportation fleet: Manage the internal vehicle fleet and build the strategy for supplemental transport (leasing, carriers, couriers) as needs scale.
• Build the playbook for contingency response when things go wrong in the field, and lead the response when they do.

Requirements

• 5-7+ years in logistics, dispatch, fleet operations, or field equipment coordination, with a track record of building or scaling a function.
• Experience hiring, managing, and developing a team.
• Ownership of physical equipment through a full cycle - dispatch, delivery, recovery, return.
• A bias toward building systems and process rather than working around their absence.
• Excellent communication skills - comfortable coordinating across multiple teams and external partners.
• Proficiency with tracking systems, spreadsheets, and project management tools (e.g., Google Sheets, Jira, Confluence, inventory systems).
• Valid driver's license.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment; comfortable making decisions in real time without waiting for permission.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $150,000-225,00 annually.

The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
