Descripción del empleo

The Logistics Data Specialist supports the Americas Logistics organization through data management, operational reporting, dashboard development and performance analysis across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

This role is the analytical engine for the Logistics team: bringing together data from internal systems and logistics partners, improving data quality and consistency, and translating operational information into clear reporting and actionable insights across inventory, 3PL operations, transportation and end-to-end product flow.

The Specialist is responsible for the reporting frameworks, dashboard design, data structure, documentation and continuous iteration that enable effective performance management. Reporting strategy, business priorities, governance and cadence are owned by the Director of Logistics in partnership with Americas and Global Logistics leadership and the 3PL and Transportation leaders. The Specialist translates those priorities into scalable reporting tools and analytical outputs.

Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Reporting
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve recurring Logistics reporting and analytical tools.
  • Consolidate, structure and validate data from ERP, WMS, TMS, 3PL, carrier and other logistics data sources.
  • Maintain consistent definitions, calculations, data sources and reporting methodologies across the Americas Logistics organization.
  • Create and maintain reporting documentation, data dictionaries and KPI definitions.
  • Identify data-quality gaps, investigate discrepancies and partner with relevant teams to improve source-data accuracy.
  • Identify manual reporting activities that can be standardized, simplified or automated.
  • Design, build and iterate dashboards and reporting frameworks in Power BI or similar business-intelligence tools.
  • Translate leadership priorities and operational questions into effective data visualizations, metrics and analytical views.
  • Develop scalable reporting structures that support daily, weekly and monthly performance visibility.
  • Recommend new analyses, visualizations and reporting approaches that improve visibility and decision-making.
  • Partner with Logistics leadership and relevant data/IT resources when technical support or source-system expertise is required.
Performance Analytics
  • Analyze logistics performance to identify trends, exceptions, recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct root-cause and variance analysis using operational and system data.
  • Develop and maintain KPI and SLA measurement across Logistics activities and partners.
  • Support lead-time measurement across key milestones in the end-to-end product flow.
  • Prepare analyses for leadership reviews, vendor performance discussions and business decisions.
  • Evaluate whether operational changes or corrective actions are producing measurable improvement.

Reporting and analysis may include:

  • Inventory on hand, movements, adjustments, aging and discrepancies
  • Inbound and outbound volumes
  • Returns and reverse logistics
  • 3PL productivity and service levels
  • Transportation and carrier performance
  • Shipment and delivery lead times
  • Operational exceptions and aging
  • Forecast versus actual volumes and performance
Inventory Management & Controls

Serve as a dedicated analytical and inventory-management resource to the 3PL Operations team, including:

  • Inventory reconciliation and discrepancy analysis
  • Inventory adjustment review and supporting analysis
  • Cycle-count and physical-inventory analysis
  • Inventory aging and exception reporting
  • Inventory movement and transaction analysis
  • Returns and reverse-logistics reporting
  • Investigation of system, transaction and stock discrepancies
  • Root-cause analysis and follow-up on inventory-control issues
  • Partner with the 3PL Operations Manager and relevant internal teams to identify inventory-control risks, support resolution of discrepancies and improve inventory accuracy over time.
Reporting Governance & Ownership

The Director of Logistics owns the overall reporting strategy, priorities and cadence in alignment with Americas and Global Logistics leadership and the 3PL and Transportation leaders. The Specialist owns the analytical framework and execution required to support that strategy.

  • Leadership defines the business questions, priorities, audiences and decision-making cadence.
  • The Specialist recommends and develops the reporting structure, metrics, dashboard design and analytical approach.
  • The Specialist maintains, refreshes and improves reporting outputs and proactively identifies opportunities for new or better visibility.
  • Reporting frameworks will be reviewed and refined with Logistics leadership as business needs evolve.
Cross-Functional Relationships

The Logistics Specialist will partner closely with:

  • Planning and Inventory
  • Retail Operations and E-Commerce
  • IT / Business Systems / Data teams
  • External 3PL and transportation partners
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, supply chain analytics, operations analytics or a related analytical field.
  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business analytics, statistics, engineering, supply chain, economics, computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Advanced Power BI or comparable business-intelligence experience, including dashboard development and data visualization.
  • Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated ability to work with large, complex operational data sets.
  • Experience developing recurring reporting, KPIs, analytical frameworks and performance dashboards.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including trend, variance and root-cause analysis.

  • Experience with SQL, data modeling, Power Query, Python or similar analytical tools is strongly preferred.
