Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. is seeking a Transportation professional to oversee scheduling and freight for outbound store deliveries nationwide. You will manage shipments, carrier relationships, and daily routing for diverse order types while maintaining excellent service levels.

The role emphasizes data-driven cost optimization, vendor portal management, and collaboration with accounts payable to ensure accurate weekly invoicing. A detail-oriented, proactive communicator is essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Oversees scheduling and secures lowest-cost freight for outbound deliveries across multiple stores in the United States
• Manages outbound shipments to stores and tendering of shipments to carriers
• Resolves carrier capacity constraints in the network
• Tracks shipments via email, phone, and carrier sites to ensure timely pickup and delivery
• Provides updates to receivers and stores/customers on load status
• Verifies pickups and deliveries are on time and in good condition
• Oversees routing for outbound orders including Custom Order Fulfillment, B2B, white-glove closet shipments, store deliveries, transfers
• Approves, creates, and manages vendor portals within the TMS
• Ensures resolution of inquiries
• Updates origin/destination profiles in the TMS
• Completes cross-training across Transportation Department functions and provides coverage as needed
• Collects and analyzes data to identify trends and works with management to implement corrective actions with providers
• Analyzes data to find trends to reduce spend and waste
• Provides outstanding internal and external customer service through communication
• Audits and approves all Transportation Department invoices
• Coordinates with Accounts Payables for timely weekly invoicing
• Maintains punctuality with assigned schedule
• Maintains discretion with confidential information
• Performs other duties as requested
