Job summary

Bed Bath & Beyond is seeking an experienced transportation professional in Dallas, TX to lead outbound logistics across multiple stores. You will oversee scheduling, carrier tendering, routing optimization, and tracking to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency while maintaining data transparency with internal teams.

Responsibilities include carrier management, vendor portal administration, invoicing, and cross-functional coverage for the Transportation Department.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation planning and dispatch functions.
• Ability to coordinate inbound/outbound freight with minimal cost impact.
• Strong data analysis and reporting to drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Oversees scheduling and secures lowest cost freight for outbound store deliveries that affect multiple stores across the United States
• Manages outbound shipments to our stores and tendering of shipments to carriers
• Resolves carrier capacity constraints to the network
• Tracks and traces shipments by gathering information via email, phone calls and/or carrier websites to ensure timely pickup and delivery of shipments
• Provides updates to receivers and stores/customers on the status of loads
• Verifies loads have picked up and delivered on time and in good condition
• Oversees the planning, optimization and daily routing of outbound orders for Custom Order Fulfillment, Business to Business, white glove closet shipments, store deliveries, transfer moves and closet suppliers
• Approves, creates, and manages all vendor portals within the TMS
• Ensures resolution of all questions and inquiries
• Updates origin and destination profiles within the TMS
• Completes cross training for all functions of the Transportation Department and provide coverage as required by business needs
• Collects, analyzes and presents data for trends and works with the management team to develop, implement and execute corrective action plans with providers
• Analyzes data to find trends and opportunities to decrease spend and eliminate waste
• Provides outstanding internal and external customer service through communication
• Audits and approve all invoices for the Transportation Department
• Coordinates with Accounts Payables to ensure timely and accurate completion of weekly customer invoices
• Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
• Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
• Performs other requested tasks and duties
