Job summary

Arkema is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage shipping, inventory control, and carrier coordination at the Plant. You will use SAP and ERP systems to ensure accurate paperwork, on-time deliveries, and compliance with DOT and hazmat requirements.

In this role you will partner with Customer Service, Warehousing, and Production to optimize logistics flows, perform cycle counts, and support continuous improvements in safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma + 2 years logistics and transportation experience or equivalent.
  • Experience in exports (documentation, letters of credit, etc.).
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • SAP experience preferred and knowledge of DOT regulations.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to ship hazardous goods.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Job dimensions

Responsible for utilizing Arkema standard processes and technology to monitor and proactively coordinate logistics activities at the Plant. Responsible for logistics activities, communication with carriers, investigation to address any issues and make sound decisions for actions. Routine interaction within the plant business unit as well as carriers will

Key Activities and responsibilities
Inventory Management/Control 25%
  • Use the ERP system, bar code system and other computer resources for the coordination and control of raw materials and finished goods inventory.
  • Assist in the use of the bar code technology throughout the plant.
  • Track blocked, aged, and scrap inventories. Analyze and assist in its management.
  • As requested, collect data and prepare management reports that define the plant performance parameters.
  • Verify all Return Material Authorizations (RMA’s) and perform transactions associated with the return.
  • Assist with inventory discrepancies.
  • Process all inventory scrap approval paperwork and perform inventory adjustments in ERP system.
  • Assist with annual physical inventory and/or monthly cycle counting activities. Including a schedule for cycle counting to ensure all bins are counted annually to meet the internal control requirement.
Logistics Administration 75%
  • Ensure information for drivers pertaining to procedures as well as loading and unloading locations.
  • Prepare safe and accurate shipping/receiving paperwork and reporting in the ERP system.
  • Work with Customer Service Department (Sales) within the framework of the planning and establishment of the commands of obtaining carriers.
  • Utilize SAP to administer handling of finished products; generate documents, create labels, record weights, validate quantities that have been dispatched or received.
  • Review all customer orders in SAP, communicate any delays to the Sr. Logistics Supervisor and customer service group and offer solutions to delays.
  • Ensure optimized logistics flow for all of the orders processed on the site.
  • Participate as a team member by maintaining professional relationships with other staff.
  • Ensure shipments are in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Provide safety and labeling advice for dangerous good transportation. Requires Hazmat Training and Certifications
  • Understand plant environmental health and safety regulations and Comply with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with the transport price policy defined by Arkema.
  • Process FedEx and UPS parcel shipments for the entire site including samples.
  • Manage the work cycle for FedEx and UPS shipments.
  • Update the tank truck calendar schedule daily and communicate to internal teams for tank truck orders.
  • Coordinate all truckload orders with carriers.
  • Utilize TMS to analyze the ability for load consolidation to drive freight cost savings to meet customer required delivery dates.
  • Maintain all shipping order paperwork for the last two years in the filing system.
  • Assist with TMS documents related to functions within the shipping office.
  • Coordinate all return empty cylinders and Schutz containers to the appropriate locations.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and direct appropriately, using a professional and courteous tone of voice and the approved greeting.
  • Occasionally overtime could be required to meet customer needs.
  • External relations (customers and distributors) and internally (labs, logistics, accounting etc.)
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety,
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident, or injury incidents.
  • The scope of responsibilities is broad and the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously is essential.
  • Interaction with various plant personnel, including but not limited to Warehouse, Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
  • Manufacturing environment with chemical, physical, ergonomic, and electrical hazards. Work includes proximity to powered industrial trucks.
  • Work is primarily performed in indoor environmental conditions. Employees are subject to atmospheric conditions, including, but not limited to, exposure to dust, chemicals, and odors.
  • Works with or around hazardous substances.
  • Recommend work method improvements.
  • Minimal to no travel required.
Required Education/Qualifications /Work Experience
