Sunbelt Solomon is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage and monitor all sales, shipments, deliveries and pickups for the Transportation Department. The role requires adherence to safety requirements, quality standards and company policies.

You will use information systems to track transport needs, schedule shipments, coordinate with 3PL providers, build cost-effective routes, schedule drivers, and prepare documentation for drivers and customers while maintaining accurate records daily.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of Microsoft Office and Excel experience required.
  • 1-3 years dispatching/logistics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Use information systems to track transport needs and schedule shipments.
  • Coordinate with 3PL to ensure loads are on time.
  • Build cost-effective routes that minimize empty miles while meeting timelines.
  • Schedule drivers and equipment to transport loads.
  • Provide information and documentation needed by drivers and customers.
  • Monitor progress for pickups and deliveries and address delays.
  • Upload BOLs and packing slips to support invoicing.
  • Complete weekly reports as requested by management.
  • Schedule LTL shipments as requested.
  • Ensure all services meet safety and quality standards.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and route to proper channels.
  • Organize and maintain pickup request forms (IMTs).
  • Track, store and organize hazardous waste manifests for IMTs.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Job description

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and monitoring all sales, shipments, deliveries and pickups for the Transportation Department. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.

  • Use information system(s) to track transport needs and schedule shipments
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) company to ensure loads are on time.
  • Use orders to build routes that are cost effective, minimizing empty miles while meeting customer timelines
  • Schedule drivers and equipment to transport loads
  • Provide information and documentation needed by drivers, customers, receiving and others.
  • Monitor progress for scheduled pickups and deliveries, address issues with delays as they arise.
  • Uploads BOLs and Packing Slips to support customer invoicing.
  • Complete weekly reports as requested by management.
  • Schedule LTL shipments as requested
  • Ensuring that the quality of all services provided meets the required standards
  • Respond to customer inquiries and refer clients to the proper channels
  • Organizes and maintains pickup request forms (IMTs)
  • Track, store and organize hazardous waste manifests for IMTs
  • Other assigned duties as needed.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 1-3 years of Microsoft Office and Excel experience required.
  • 1-3 years of dispatching and logistics experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of transportation industry process and procedures preferred.
  • A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
  • Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
  • Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values
  • Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time while operating a computer with occasional light lifting.
  • Regular visits to the production facility and engaging with operations team.
