Job description

Afton Chemical is seeking a highly motivated Logistics Coordinator to join our Supply Chain organization. This role is responsible for managing product movements across fuel terminals, transload facilities, and customer locations while supporting strong customer service, inventory accuracy, transportation efficiency, and timely invoice resolution.

The successful candidate will work closely with carriers, terminal operators, manufacturing sites, commercial teams, and customers to support uninterrupted product supply and effective logistics execution. Core responsibilities include inventory management, transportation coordination, order fulfillment, invoice reconciliation, ocean shipment support, and continuous improvement activities throughout the logistics network.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels at fuel terminals and transload facilities.
• Monitor inventory positions and coordinate replenishment activities to reduce the risk of stock-outs and excess inventory.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound truck, rail, and ocean shipments.
• Process and manage customer and stock transfer orders in SAP.
• Schedule transportation services and monitor shipment execution, tracking, documentation, and invoicing.
• Investigate and resolve freight, demurrage, detention, and invoice discrepancies.
• Partner with carriers, terminal operators, plants, and logistics providers to resolve operational issues.
• Support customs, export documentation, and international shipment activities as required.
• Maintain proactive communication with internal stakeholders and customers regarding supply, lead times, shipment status, and service concerns.
• Analyze logistics data and recommend process improvements that enhance service, safety, efficiency, and cost performance.
• Support KPI reporting, continuous improvement projects, and special assignments.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytical, logical problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work productively within a team and across functional groups.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business systems.

Preferred:

• Degree concentration in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
• Experience with SAP or another ERP system.
• Experience in logistics, transportation, inventory management, customer service, or supply chain operations.
• Experience working with fuel terminals, transload facilities, ocean logistics, rail transportation, or bulk chemical operations.

Pay Range: $60,000 -$75,000
